Summertime and the weather is HOT! There are plenty of healthy fruits and veggies to choose from during the summer season! Shop your local Farmers Market for the freshest finds and for a quick list of a few of the healthiest fruits and veggies of the summer!

CUCUMBERS: These crisp and cool vegetables are good for more than just salads and spa treatments,they make great adds or substitutes in favorite recipes like chicken or tuna salads! Also cucumbers contains silica which improves the health of skin and its a great source of fiber and magnesium!

EGGPLANT: This purple veggie goes great with many dishes and there are so many different ways to cook it too,roast it,grill it etc! Eggplant is high in antioxidants and can reduce cholesterol levels AND is a great source of vitamin B.

BELL PEPPERS: These delicious,crunchy and colorful veggies can be eaten raw just like an apple,the orange one in particular is so tasty and sweet! Contains vitamin B6 and folic acid and can also lower high cholesterol!

SUMMER SQUASH: Summer squash when steamed or roasted can have a creamy texture and because of its mild taste it pairs really basil and rosemary! Has omega fatty acids and vitamin C!

PEARS: The sweet and soft texture is perfect as an anytime snack and they blend well with many other fruit and veggies!

FIGS: Fresh figs are not only delicious but also a great source of fiber and potassium!
