Seniors Farming...

This morning I found an article on MSN that truly inspired me. It's about a non-profit organization called Collective Roots in East Palo Alto, who sees the movement to reconnect to the earth, and the fresh vegetables and fruits it produces, as a solution to food insecurity and poor nutrition in its local senior population. Through this program, low-income seniors are discovering that tilling their own piece of land—no matter how small—can offer a vital source of fresh food, as well as a much-needed lifeline to the present and a connection to the past.
